Eyelid Surgery

Overview

Revive your vibrant youthful look with a rejuvenating eyelid surgery.

The eyes might often be one of the first places on your face where you start to notice the signs of aging, making you feel a disconnect between the way you look and how you feel. Tissue and tiny pockets of fat can accumulate on the upper and lower lids, making them look puffy and tired. Skin laxity can also develop, which makes lids droop and sag. In some cases, you may even see changes to your line of vision as a result of upper lid droopiness.
Our medical team has in-depth knowledge of eyelid anatomy and is skilled at the most innovative surgical advances. We will restore the delicate balance of position, tone, contours and shape of your eyes to bring the natural appearance that expresses you best.

Are You a Candidate for an eyelid surgery?

Eyelid surgery may be the right option for you if your symptoms of aging are centered around the eyes. Specific concerns that an eyelid surgery could address include:
  • Loose skin, causing drooping of the upper lids
  • Upper lid sagging that interferes with your vision range
  • Creasing in the upper lid that makes it difficult to apply makeup
  • Small pockets of fat, giving the eyes a puffy appearance
  • Sagging beneath the eye that may expose the white of the eye under the iris
  • Bags or deep grooves underneath the eyes

Eyelid Surgery approaches

Upper Eyelid Surgery

The upper lid blepharoplasty is the most common eyelid aesthetic intervention. Our dedicated team focuses on smoothing the upper lid, removing sagging, and creating a refreshed upper eye contour. During the procedure, a delicate incision is made within the natural lid crease and the excess skin is removed, while avoiding risk of scars. Extra fat is then removed while tissue, muscle and skin are tightened to improve the contour of your eyes.

Lower Eyelid Surgery

With age lower eyelid bags can develop and make you look tired even after a good night’s rest. Revive your look. The procedure involves removing redundant skin and fat to eliminate puffiness and deep creases, making your look spectacular again.

Upper and Lower Eyelid Surgery

The upper and lower eyelid surgeries can be performed either individually or simultaneously. Operating simultaneously, allows for more dramatic results with a single intervention. The recovery and healing time are not altered by the combination of the procedures while the payback of the results is stunning.

The Recovery Process

Most patients find that recovery from blepharoplasty is more tolerable than they expected. Post-operative care includes prescription oral pain medication and ice packs to keep you comfortable during the first couple of days. You will notice the positive change in your look as the bruising and swelling lessen. We recommend that you sleep with your head elevated for some nights to prevent the risk of swelling. Eye drops will be provided to keep your eyes from drying out during the healing process. Some would find wearing sunglasses helpful in some occasions. We further recommend the use of sunscreen once you start to expose yourself to daily light.
You should be able to go back to watching television or reading within 48 hours of the intervention. Most patients can go back to their regular leisure and professional activities within two weeks, with minimal to no bruising or swelling visible at that time.
Results of eyelid surgery can last for many years. Over time, the aging process may start to take its toll once again, but there are other procedures you can consider to maintain your youthful look.
